Crow Leadership Academy's vision and mission is to develop the whole child through the framework and support of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (learn more at  www.ibo.org ) and the Capturing Kids Hearts program. Crow Leadership Academy nurtures the social, emotional, personal and academic needs of every student. Our students demonstrate these holistic skills in the classroom and by engaging in the community through a multitude of service and leadership opportunities.  
The instructional practices at Crow Leadership Academy build upon students’ natural curiosities, and students take ownership of their learning through inquiry-based instruction. Our units of study, while still meeting all required state standards, are based on universal concepts that allow learning across and between subjects as well as providing a base for learning to be applied in new contexts. Additionally, our students take concrete actions to make their world, whether local or global, a better place by using their new understandings from all inquiries.

All students attending Crow Leadership Academy will develop skills for leadership and service to make meaningful contributions individually and collectively to the world through community service. Additional opportunities for service and leadership outside of school hours are available to all students through several extracurricular clubs.

The application window for the 2025 - 2026 school year opens Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at noon and closes on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. Parent information sessions will be posted on the specialized programs page.

Crow Leadership Academy accepts students in pre-K through 6th grades. During the application process, please make sure to include if your student is part of the bilingual program or ESL program or is not an ESL student so we can make sure they are placed appropriately.
Students who live in the Crow attendance zone in ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV do not need to apply for Crow because they have automatic admission to the program.
However, if you live in the Crow attendance zone and move out of it or intend to move out of it before the next school year, you will need to apply to the academy as your child will no longer have automatic admittance.
All students must either live in the Crow attendance zone or be selected through the application process.

Invitations for specialized programs will be sent out on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., directly from specialized program campuses. Families receive one notification, either an invitation from a specialized program campus or an email explaining other opportunities if a student is not accepted into a specialized program.

There is no cost to attend Crow Leadership Academy.

Students living within Arlington will be able to access transportation through a hub system. Designated campuses serve as hubs for students in nearby schools.
Transportation is not available for out-of-district students.

Acceptance numbers will vary depending on grade level and program.

Crow Leadership Academy is looking for students who want to grow their leadership skills and develop themselves as leaders. Students should be interested in serving the school, community and world. Students should want to explore curriculum through inquiry, build awareness of needs in the community, and learn how to take action to make a positive impact on the world.

Yes. Admission to students who reside outside of ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV boundaries will be offered after all resident applicants have been placed. However, out-of-district siblings of current students are exempt from this requirement.

During the application window, several parent information meetings are held to review the program design, expectations and to discuss the application process. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend a parent meeting for at least one academy.

Students will participate in art, music, P.E. and strings (5th and 6th only) just like at other ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV elementary schools. All students will have an opportunity to study Spanish as a second language using the Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES) model in kindergarten through sixth grades.

Beginning in kindergarten, all students will begin studying Spanish and its culture. Kindergarten and first-grade students focus on basic vocabulary and get an introduction to different aspects of Spanish culture. Our students in 2nd-4th grade expand their vocabulary, learn about grammar in the spoken and written language, as well as dive deeper into the differences of culture in Spanish-speaking countries. Fifth and 6th grade students who select Spanish as their elective earn their Spanish I junior high credit at the end of the two years.
