We hope you all had a WONDERFUL break and it was exactly what you needed. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! Below are just some basic need to knows as we kick off this short week and then my Monday Messenger will kick back up starting next Monday!
Tardy Policy/Changes: -Beginning tomorrow, 1-8, the front doors will shut at 8:20. I will leave the car line at 8:10 to do announcements and Mr. Baylor will leave the car line at 8:15. We will give you this week to get used to this new time to get your kiddos here on time however beginning Monday 1-13, if your child is dropped off at 8:20 or later you will need to park and come into the front of the school, scan a QR code that will be available for you in the front foyer to let us know why you are late and then your child will walk into the front office and we will get them to class. This is our hope to try to minimize the excessive amount of tardies we have right now. Learning begins at 8:10 when I start the announcements so it is really important that families get here on time! If your child gets here anytime before 8:20 they WILL still be able to have breakfast and have appropriate amount of time to eat.
Attendance Matters! Our school wide attendance rate we work for each six weeks is 95.2%. We want our kids to come to school every day so they can learn, grow, and be successful! I will begin pop up EXTRA recess for the grade levels each week that are at 95.2% or HIGHER. These learners will get an extra 45 minute recess from ME! That is a HUGE reason to come to school every day! Think about ways that you can keep your kiddos healthy so that they can be here!
3rd Six Weeks Pep Rally: Date moved to Friday 1-17. We are moving our 3rd Six Weeks pep rally to next Friday in the event that we are snowed in! If your learner is getting an award in PK-2 or 3-6 please make that change!
January Spill with Hill and Monthly Feedback: I did not have many or any Spill with Hill questions or feedback so I am extending it into this week! If you have something you want to ask me or want me to address please fill out the link below! I will post the video on 1-13 with my Monday Messenger: Spill with Hill Link:
Upcoming Dates: January 13th-17th: 3rd Six Weeks DOJO Store
Leaving You with a New Year's Tip! I am not sure if you as a family or personally have done the one word for the new year but it is something really easy to do together! Think about a habit or change you want to make for yourself in the new year. What comes to mind? Then think about the themes you are seeing within those habits and see if one word sticks out to you. Let that word be your driving force for the new year. My word for 2025 is Deliberate. I want to be deliberate with my interactions with students, staff and parents. I want to be deliberate with the time I spend with my daughter and my husband. I want to be deliberate with the way I spend and save money, the amount of time I spend on social media, and the amount of time I exercise. This word is my driving force for the year. If you and your family think of a word, I would love to hear it!
Hi Families! We are ALMOST there! It is almost the end of the first semester. I honestly don't know how we are already here. I feel like the year just started.
What a gift each of your child is to me and to Hill. Thank you for sharing them with us every day and trusting us to keep them safe, loved, and cared for. I do not take that job lightly and I am grateful for the opportunity every day! See below for some reflections, upcoming dates, and things to note to get us into the Holiday Break!
Reflection for the Week: How you greet your child when they see you for the first time is more important than you know My daughter is 3 as of Friday. One of our friends saw her Sunday out and about and was so excited to see her. When the friend walked off she turned to my husband and said "Daddy who is that?" My husband reminded her it was our friend Katherine. She then said "She was so excited to see me!" She is 3! Our kids can tell when we enjoy being in their presence and when we don't. This holiday season is busy busy busy. Take time to really see your kid and to show them that you are so excited to be in their presence!
Upcoming Dates: 12-17: Holiday Movie Day, PJ Day, and School Sing a Long at 2:30! 12-19: Holidays Around the World (during the school day) 12-20: Winter Parties in AM and Early Dismissal at 12:10 1-8: Students Return from Winter Break
Things to Note: -Beginning January 8th, we will be counting tardies at 8:15. If learners are inside eating breakfast at that time, they will not be tardy. However if they are just getting to school they will be counted tardy. At 8:15 or later if your child is dropped off, there will not be a grown up outside to open the car doors. Your child will need to be walked inside the front office. We have excessive tardies and absence issues right now and we are trying everything to encourage our kids to get here on time. Beginning in January each grade level will have a goal to help increase their grade level attendance. Also each week if the grade level is above our attendance goal of 95.2%, they will get an extra 45 minute recess from me. 6th Grade got theirs last week! Thank you for helping with this!
-I would love your feedback for the month of December! Fill the link out here:
-I will be doing my January Spill with Hill when we return. If there is something you want me to address in it please fill that out here as well:
Thank you again for an amazing 1st semester! Grateful for you all! Mrs. Longoria ... See MoreSee Less

New Tardy Policy beginning January 8th We wanted to inform you all of a new tardy policy beginning January 8th! Per AISD instruction begins at 8:10 every day. Starting Wednesday January 8th, your learner will be tardy beginning at 8:15. They will need to come to the office and get their tardy pass.
Myself and Mr. Baylor will come in at 8:15 and close the doors so there won't be anyone helping with cars after 8:15 either. It is SO important that our kids are here on time, ready to learn so we can maximize our instructional time with them.
Lastly our attendance rate for the 3rd six weeks is currently very low. I know a lot of kiddos have been sick however we need to make sure we do everything we can to keep everyone healthy and here! Shout out to 6th grade for being back ABOVE our goal. They are the ONLY grade level so far and I plan to celebrate them big time!
Have a good rest of your week! Mrs. Longoria ... See MoreSee Less
